Sri Mekha Dharma Appa Rao one of the Zamindar of Nuzvid Estate issaid to have establish to a branch estate in Eluru town some 250 years ago. It is also stated that sri Chennakesava Swam varu appeared in the dream of the said Zamindar and informed that the deity Chenna Kesava Swamy is availble in the well near by and also directed to construct a temple. Accordingly Sri Raja Mekha Dharma Apparao has got dig out the ideal of deity constructed a temple and installed under Vykhanasa Agama Sampradayam.

Sri Chennakesava Swamy & Ramalingesara Swamy temple situated at
Five Storied Rajagopuram constructed with dressed sand stone upto ground floor and over the gopurams constructed with brick masonry with five stairs. This gopuram is at a height of 77 feet located abutting Duggirala – Nuzivedu Road
